Vietnamese Pho Noodle Soup Recipe: A Comforting Bowl of Flavor

Pho is a classic Vietnamese dish with a long history, originating in the northern region of Vietnam. This flavorful noodle soup is made with a rich broth, tender beef, and a variety of herbs and spices, making it a comforting and satisfying meal. To get the authentic flavors, you can find traditional ingredients like rice noodles, star anise, cinnamon, and fish sauce at Asian markets. Wintery food? Ingredients:
1 large onion
3-inch piece ginger
5 garlic cloves
4 quarts beef stock
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 cup fish sauce
2 cinnamon sticks
4 whole star anise
1/2 tsp coriander seeds
1 pound sirloin steak, thinly sliced
8 ounces dried rice noodles
1 cup bean sprouts
1/2 cup basil leaves
1/2 cup cilantro leaves
1 lime, cut into wedges
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 450°F.
Roast onion, ginger, and garlic in oven until slightly charred, about 15 minutes.
In a large pot, bring stock, roasted ingredients, sugar, fish sauce, cinnamon sticks, star anise, and coriander seeds to a boil.
Reduce heat to low and let simmer for 30 minutes.
In a separate pot, cook rice noodles according to package instructions.
To serve, place cooked noodles in a large bowl, add a few slices of beef, and ladle hot broth over the top.
